Progressive collapse analysis

Hello friends

I have a question about analysis method in Abaqus.

I want study the progressive of elements failure in a truss structure to find which element fail at first and which one fail after that while whole of the structure collapses.

Which kind of analysis method I could use?

Well, it depends upon what kind of analysis you're conducting. You can study progressive failure analysis through each of the following analysis methods:

1. Static Analysis

2. Dynamic Implicit/Explicit

3. Static Riks

You just need to use many increments in order to resolve progressive failure.
