Johsnon-cook model parameter determination

Submitted by psarunirtt on

Hello All!!!

I am Arun, Master degree student in South Korea.

My research field is : High strain rate experiemnts

I did High speed tensile test for aluminium alloy at four different speeds (1m/s, 5m/s, 10m/s and 15m/s)

I also did high temp tensile test for aluminium alloy at room temperature, 100 C, 250C

Now i have the stress Vs Strain curve for High speed tensile test and high temperature test

But, i don't know how to determine Johnson-Cook model parameter from the experimental results

I read many reference, but it's confusing

Can some one guide me to determine the parameters

Thanks and regards,

Arun

Hello Arun,

You need to convert those stress- strain curve from high spped tests which are also know jump test to stress Vs. strain rate. Johnson Cook model contains terms of equivalent plastic strain & strain rate.

Thanks,

Vinand
