A (Possibly Free) Primer on the Finite Element Method

Submitted by oliver oreilly on

For those of you interested in a terse introductory guide to the Finite Element Method, you might find the latest book by my colleague at U.C. Berkeley, Tarek Zohdi, to be helpful:

For many students and faculty, the book is freely available from the Springer website hyperlinked above.

Given the interest in my post on Tarek's primer, some readers might also find the following  companion books by Tarek to be helpful:

An Introduction to Computational Mechanics (with Peter Wriggers, Springer 2008)

Electromagnetic Properties of Multiphase Dielectrics: A Primer on Modeling, Theory, and Computation. (Springer 2012)

Dynamics of Charged Particulate Systems: Modeling, Theory, and Computation (Springer 2012)

Again, depending on your University Library's subscriptions, these books might be freely available from the links above.
