I need a matlab code for measuring intermetallic layer thickness of Cu-Sn binary alloy during soldering.
I will use the result for Characterization of intermetallic layer and also time based analysis of mechanical failure.
I would be really grateful to the person who can help me over this issue.

Hi, If you have the BSE images of the joints, you can easily use Imagej software to calculate the total surface area of the IMCs (use gray level to select a specific grey level which is different for IMCs than solder itself), and then divide it by the total length which will give you avg. IMC thickness.
