Postdoc Position on Elastic/Acoustic Metamaterials at University of Missouri

Composite Materials & Dynamics Laboratory at University of Missouri, Columbia develops innovative solutions for acoustic/elastic wave control, smart materials, and structural health monitoring. We seek exceptional postdoc scientists to work closely with our research group on exciting research in multifunctional metamaterials for manipulating acoustic/elastic wave propagation, structural health monitoring and sensor applications.

 

Essential Duties:

As a member of a world-class research team, she/he will:

•             Participate in leading-edge research involving elastic/acoustic wave steering and control

•             Develop active metamaterial based on electrical-mechanical coupling.

 

 

Required qualifications include:

•             PhD in an area related to structure dynamics, acoustic/elastic metamaterials or a related field

•             Expertise in ANSYS, COMSOL and/or experimental testing

•             Solid background of multidisciplinary (electro-mechanical), nonlinear and multiscale modeling
