USDFLD subroutine,time dependent young modulus

Submitted by gna on

Hi,

I'm modeling a tunnel (liner) in a soil medium. It has a time dependent modulus of elasticity which means it should reach its maximum value after a while not quickly. I decided to write a USDFLD subroutine to change E with respect to t, but unfortunately I'm a little bit confused about it. I would be grateful if anyone can help me with the subroutine.

thanks in advance

Check this paper:

E. Martínez-Pañeda and R. Gallego

Numerical analysis of quasi-static fracture in functionally graded materials

It includes in the Appendix a USDFLD subroutine to change the Young's modulus as a function of the coordinates. It is not exactly what you are looking for but you should be able to change the subroutine to tailor your needs quite easily.
