Finite element software developer

Altair is seeking a Software Engineer to assist in the development of OptiStruct, a commercial finite element code mainly involved in the structural dynamics and acoustics domain. The candidate will be mainly responsible for writing software in Fortran and C++. It is also desirable for candidates to be familiar with the noise/vibration/harshness (NVH) arena. Responsibilities:

• To derive mathematical formulation mainly in finite element method.
• Must be able to program with Fortran and C++
• Handle large code and design code day to day basis.
• Software testing and debugging.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work in small teams with little or no supervision is a must

Requirements:

• Master’s or PhD in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering.
• Strong knowledge in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Structural Dynamics.
• Programming knowledge with Fortran and C++.
• Sound mathematical knowledge.
• Familiarity with Linux.
• Knowledge of HyperMesh and Optistruct products preferred.
• Must be a team player.
