We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our research team for a postdoc position in theoretical/computational solid mechanics and dynamics, architecture materials, and impact wave mitigation, to work with Prof. Guoliang Huang (https://engineering.missouri.edu/faculty/guoliang-huang/)  in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Missouri.

Main Task: to develop and validate computational models of composite materials and mechanical metamaterials under impact loading using finite element software Abaqus and/Ansys.

Qualifications
- PhD. degree in applied mechanics, solid mechanics, structural dynamics, mechanical engineering or related disciplines,
- experience in finite element simulations (ABAQUS, ANSYS) of nonlinear behavior and impact wave simulation (fundamental theories and metamaterials design is preferable).
- Experience in preparing scientific publications in high level international journals.

Duration and renumeration:

Starts in November---December 2023.

This is a full-time, fully funded position with an initial appointment of at least one year, possible extended to two and three years.
