Viscoelastic-ABAQUS

Submitted by sn_sohail on

Hi ,

I am trying to model cooling of molten glass in ABAQUS. Does any one knows how to convert the viscosity data for ABAQUS?

Thanks,

Soheil

Hello, you dont leave me with much information, so i'll have to guess a bit here;

The manual should clearly specify what the different coefficient mean.

If you use CAE, click the help mouse cursor and in the materialwindow where you have created a viscous material. This will lead you the the corresponding manual page;

Hello Mikael, Thanks, I know how to input the data but basically my question was to extract these data from the common viscosity curves against temperature that is what ABAQUS do not tell you and needs experience.In ABAQUS if you choose time based Viscoelastic behaviour you need to input Prony series coefficient to the ABAQUS. But I do not know how can i find these coefficient from viscosity curves.If you have come across to it please let me know?Thanks

Hi,

If you just need input simple viscoelastic material behavior, prony series is enough. As I remember, it just the coefficients of the normalized time-dependent shear modulus G(t). Usually, viscoelactic behavior can be represented by the models of combination of springs and dampers. you should better first read something about these models and the relaxing modulus and creep compliance and then search and read about the parts in abaqus documentation about prony series.

hello everyone,

i'm prashant raut doing masters at IIT Bombay India, for my project work i need the data of viscosity at different time and at different temperatures above and below the glass transition temperature for PMMA . can anyone please tell me where i can get exact data. if anyone have such data then could you plz foreward it to me.

i tried with some data, but the results are not good, so i need to try with some more accurate data.

plz help

with ward regards

Hi Tolly,

Could you please send me Windows glass data.

Thanks in advance.
