how to import subroutine file in abaqus software ?
Sir,
I am new to abaqus software. How can i import a subroutine file into abaqus software.while running a .inp file added to job it asks for a sobroutine file.while editing the job file in general tab there is an option to include a subroutine file but while selecting a .f file to it. it asks for importing a .for or .obj file . what can i do now. I am studying about heat generations due to friction in contacts .the .inp file i imported into job is ufricxxy.inp and .f file is ufricxxy.f from help .please help me in solving these problems.
thanking you

may use the command line
hello Maneesh,
You may use the abaqus command line to execute the job with the following command
abaqus job=<inp file name without extension> user=<fortran file name without extension>
This command has to be issued from inside the directory containing the input file.
If there are more than 1 user subroutines then all the subroutines must be included in a single file.
If using CAE then in the Job 'Create a Job' and then click on the 'General' tab and click on the 'browse' button for user subroutine and choose the file containing the user subroutine and Click on 'OK' in the browse window and also in the dialog box. Then submit the job.

sorry some miss
sorry some miss understandings in uploading ....see imachanica.org/files/images/11_0.preview.jpg...i.e. in educations.. images are uploaded.
or see http://imechanica.org/taxonomy/term/128 .
On a Windows system
I think you are on a WINDOWS OS. In that case you have to have the fortran file in the name of ufricxxy.FOR. ufricxxy.F type is supported in UNIX OS.
