LRET Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader in Safety and Reliability Engineering

Building on a 20-year track record in safety engineering, the School of Engineering at the University of Aberdeen in partnership with The Lloyd's Register Educational Trust (The LRET) is establishing a centre of excellence for research and teaching in the safety and reliability of engineering systems, structures and processes.


We are looking to make a further appointment to support the work ofthe new LRET Centre. With a background in engineering or applied science, you will have expertise in some aspect of safety and/or reliability engineering. The successful candidate will be a dynamic individual with the ability to lead research, as evidenced by a research track record that is commensurate with career stage. Excellent communication skills and the desire and ability to teach well at undergraduate and postgraduate levels are other essential requirements.


The appointment will be made at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer or Reader level, depending on candidate experience and track record;the post is supported by a fully-funded PhD studentship.


Salary will be at the appropriate point on the single pay scale with placement according to qualifications and experience:

Lecturer: Grade 7 (£37,012 - £44,166 per annum)
Senior Lecturer and Reader: Grade 8 (£46,846-52,706 per annum)
