Star science Professors to Wales to boost Welsh research and economy

Submitted by Stephane Bordas on

The First Minister announced a £50 million package to bring
‘star’ science professors to work and create networks of researchers in
Wales.

The programme will seek to appoint a 'star' academic and supporting team in

each of the Grand Challenge priority areas:

- Life Sciences and Health

- Low Carbon, Energy and Environment

- Advanced Engineering and Materials

The First Minister announced a £50 million package to boost Welsh research and economy??

Is it enough?

Maybe enough to bring one or two ‘star’ science professors , but I am sure they should do more to really change economy of Wales.

We have recently created the www.iit.it, the ITALIAN INSTITUTE of TECHNOLOGY, 1 billion Euros investment in 10 years, it is doing good, but certainly not changing the economy of Italy, which indeed is going very bad!  :)

So don't you think your Prime Minister should at least make his offer 10 or 100 times bigger?
