Faculty position in computational materials science and engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology

Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level in the area of computational materials science and engineering. Candidates from a range of disciplines such as materials science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, and mechanical engineering are all welcome to apply.

Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree in engineering or physical science. Candidates are expected to attain significant research funding that supports graduate students and provides a record of published research. They are also expected to be highly effective teachers for undergraduate and graduate courses in the MMAE department. Women and underrepresented minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.

The MMAE Department at IIT offers ABET accredited BS degrees in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, and materials science and engineering, as well as master's degrees and doctoral degrees in mechanical and aerospace engineering and materials science and engineering. Current full time enrollment is over 450 undergraduate students and 220 graduate students.
