Computational Modeling & Analytics (Assistant/Associate Professor)

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) invites applications for the following faculty position:

  • Computational Modeling & Analytics (Assistant/Associate
    Professor): We are interested in candidates with expertise in
    large-scale multi-physics modeling (electromagnetics, thermal,
    electrochemical, fluidic systems) and data analytics with applications
    to micro and nanosystems, power electronics systems, oil & gas
    systems, and bio-medical systems. We are particularly interested in
    candidates with experience in the use of supercomputing.

Qualifications: Applicants must have an earned Ph.D.
degree in electrical / computer engineering, computer science, or a
closely related field. The applicant must demonstrate strong potential
to develop an externally funded research program, a record of
peer-reviewed publication, student advising, and teaching.

University and Department: The University of Houston
is located in a park-like campus a few minutes from the Houston city
center, and is home to excellent research facilities on campus. In
addition, the Texas Medical Center, NASA, and the petroleum industry
offer collaborative opportunities. The Carnegie Foundation recognized UH
as a research university with very high research activity. It has
approximately 38,000 students. The department has recently embarked on
an exciting period of research growth, rising rankings, and committed
leadership. Houston is a thriving city with an internationally diverse
population, first-rate recreational opportunities, excellent schools, and affordable housing.

Time Frame: The start date of this appointment is September 1, 2014. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
