Were you able to transform that UMAT into VUMAT? I was also searching for VUMAT version of that UMAT from the examples guide. Or, if you have found any other VUMAT that can be used with 3D solid elements to simulate progressive failure in composites, could you share it?
A subroutine code for the Hashin criterion is available from "FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF CARBON FIBER COMPOSITE RIPPING USING ABAQUS" A Thesis Presented to the Graduate School of Clemson University In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Master of Science Mechanical Engineering by Joy Pederson December 2006
Little known are ABAQUS built-in models, see http://imechanica.org/node/18733 The following might appeal to you: VUMAT Continuum damage model for fabric reinforced composites VUMAT Damage and failure in unidirectional fiber composite materials
Thanks for your reply, I have studied the thesis you wrote about. However, I could not find "VUMAT Damage and failure in unidirectional fiber composite materials" eventhough I registered and searched for it. Could you please share that built-in model if you already have it ?
how to transform umat to vumat

Hello
How do you implement the Hashin criterion ?

Dear Richter,
Thanks for your reply, I have studied the thesis you wrote about. However, I could not find "VUMAT Damage and failure in unidirectional fiber composite materials" eventhough I registered and searched for it. Could you please share that built-in model if you already have it ?
