Structures: New Research Journal welcoming submissions

The Institution of Structural Engineers, the world's leading professional body for qualifications and standards in structural engineering, and Elsevier are pleased to announce that Structures, a new peer-reviewed journal covering the full breadth of structural engineering research, is now open for submissions.

Combining the depth of structural engineering research activity from within the Institution's membership, contributions from non-member world-leading researchers and Elsevier's track record in publishing innovation, Structures aspires to quickly become a high-impact journal of choice for researchers in the field.

Papers are accepted from, but not limited, to the following subject areas:

  • structural engineering
  • materials; structural design
  • construction engineering
  • structural innovation
  • extreme events
  • sustainability
  • architectural topics (that impact structural performance)
  • and other related areas.

Structures will publish its first papers early in 2015 and, for the first year, all papers will be made freely available online on ScienceDirect. To submit your paper, go to
