Faculty position in Structures and Materials
EPFL’s School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC) invites applications for a Faculty position in materials and structures. While a tenure-track Assistant Professor is expected to be hired, in exceptional cases appointments as Associate Professor or Full Professor are possible.We are seeking candidates with an outstanding research background at the interface of materials, mechanics and structures. Topics of interest include but are not limited to structural metals and alloys, brittle materials such as glass,light-weight structures, smart materials to mitigate hazards and improve energy efficiency, and modelling of materials and instabilities in extreme environments. Expertise in experimental methods would be an asset. The successful candidate will have a deep fundamental research background in structural mechanics and mechanics of materials across scales, as well as the potential to develop an innovative and internationally recognized research program leading to an outstanding record of scientific accomplishments.
As a faculty member of the Civil Engineering Section, he/she will excel in undergraduate and graduate teaching and supervise doctoral students.
