Research Assistant Position with a possibility for obtaining a PhD @ Loughborough University, UK

Research Assistant in Material Modelling ( 2 years)

Project goal: Develop physics-based numerical tools capable of characterising material behaviours in nickel and titanium alloys, linking micro and macro length scales. The models developed will be relevant for a broad temperature range, high deformations (up to failure) and high strain rates.

The Research Assistant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of partners from the UK (Univ. of Oxford) and India (IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IISc Bangalore), as well as with the industrial partners.

The project is funded by the EPSRC, UK and the DST (Dept. of Science and Technology, India).

An opportunity will be provided to obtain a PhD degree via this research. In this case, the project funding will be extended by an additional year with funding sought from an alternate source.

DEADLINE: 25th August 2014
