Looking for a postdoc in ultrasonic measurement, material characterization, nondestructive evaluation

Submitted by bruceduu on

Hi

This is Hualong Du, graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My supervisor was Dr. Joseph. Turner. My phd dissertation title is 'ultrasonic propagation and scattering in pearlitic steel'.

My research focused on material characterization including grain size, grain elongation duplex microstructure, thermal and residual stress in rail and wheels using ultrasonic backscattering method. So far five papers on ultrasonic backscattering measurement and modeling were published in Ultrasonics, JNDE, JASA.

I have been working as a ultrasonic NDE consultant for several months in the Applied Research Associate, Inc. My job included characterizing nickel alloy samples from GE and Rolls Royce, developing a Ultrasonic Metallography Tool (Software) to map grain size distribution in the nickel alloy disk from the ultrasonic backscattering signals, writing monthly reports and proposals.

In addition, I have published 6 journal papers on vibration simulation of ultrasonic transducers on IEEE.

I am looking for a post doc position in the field of ultrasonic measurement, material characterization, flaw detection, ultrasonic imaging, ultrasonic transducer design.

Please send me an email (hualongdu [at] gmail.com) if you are interested in my background.

Thanks
