The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Architecture at the American University of Beirut invites applicants for a full time faculty position in Manufacturing. Expertise in manufacturing processes, computer aided manufacturing, and/or manufacturing systems will be considered. This position will be at the assistant professor rank but exceptionally qualified candidates with established research and teaching credentials will be considered at the associate professor rank.
The successful candidate must
1. Have a PhD degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or in a closely related field, preferably with postdoctoral, teaching, or industrial experience. The bachelor’s degree must have been earned in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
2. Be able to conduct strong research programs in manufacturing.
3. Demonstrate a record of independent research and publications.
The successful candidate is expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering, participate in program development, and be active in research. The candidate is expected to take an active role in developing research initiatives leading to external funding and publications in internationally recognized journals, and should have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
