Postdoctoral Fellow in Topology Optimization at McGill University (Canada)

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University (Canada).
The research project involves activities related to the topology optimization of periodic structures and porous materials for aerospace and medical applications. Main responsibilities of the position include the development of structural concepts via systematic use of topology and shape optimization that can account for manufacturing constraints and conflicting design requirements. The project requires solid knowledge of computation mechanics and structural optimization (shape and topology). The candidate is expected to work in collaboration with industrial partners and members of the Pasini lab (pasini.ca), contribute to the supervision of undergraduate students as well as liaise with international research groups.

Qualifications:
Suitable candidates are required to have a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with a very strong background in topology optimization and computational mechanics, besides expertise in CAD (e.g. Solidworks, Rhino) modelling if possible. The candidate must have effective communication skills, must be a good team player and be ready to deliver high quality research papers.
Interested candidates should send a cover letter, complete CV with publications and an account of their research experience to Damiano Pasini at damiano.pasini@mcgill.ca
