A Phd scholarship in 'Advanced Modelling for the Biomaterial/Biosystem Interaction' is available in the Laboratory for Advanced Modelling and Simulation in Engineering and Science at Queensland University of Technology.
We are currently working on the material modelling of interaction between biomaterial and protein/tissues under an ARC discovery project . Molecular dynamics (MD) and Density functional theory (DFT) modelling are mainly used to achieve this target. Advanced experiments are also designed to validate the modelling results. Ideal candidate(s) should have strong background in material modelling or/and computational physics/biology. MD/DFT/FE (finite element) skills are preferred. Knowledge of modelling software and computer programming is a plus.
Scholarship including: Full tuition fee + living allowance of A$20k~25k per year for up to 3 years. In addition, the PhD candidate will also have opportunity to involve in tutorials and teaching assistant (paid).
Eligibility: The applicants should meet the admission requirements of QUT. https://www.qut.edu.au/study/courses/doctor-of-philosophy-science-engineering#img-72218
Application contact: This project is available to start as soon as possible. Please contact Mr Tong Li by email (t14.li [at] qut.edu.au (t14[dot]li[at]qut[dot]edu[dot]au)) or Prof. YuanTong Gu (yuantong.gu [at] qut.edu.au (yuantong[dot]gu[at]qut[dot]edu[dot]au)) with informal enquires about this project.
