Fifth biennial workshop on Direct Methods

The fifth biennial workshop on 'Direct Methods' will be held in Oxford, UK on 6th to 8th September 2015.  It follows on from previous successful workshops held in Aachen, Lille, Athens and Reggio Calabria (see http://www.iadime.unirc.it/ ).

The workshop will focus on the use of Direct Methods for Limit State Analysis, Shakedown Analysis, Optimum Design of Structures and Materials and other aspects of the behaviour and performance of engineering materials and structural components (including evaluations of creep, the behaviour of composite, strain localisation, etc)

The aim of the workshop is to bring researchers and industrialists interested in the development of Direct Methods together to discuss and examine recent developments in the field and to explore how their innovative use can provide new insights into different material and structural phenomena.

This meeting is by invitation only.  If you are interested in attending the workshop or would like further information, please contact directmethods@eng.ox.ac.uk .
