Advanced Mechanics of Materials now Online

The condensed version of Advanced Mechanics of Materials book in now posted on my web page for you to review. You can go directly to it using this link. I welcome comments, suggestions, and corrections.

The preface describes my motivation and the uniqueness of the book. In brief, my book focuses on teaching how complexities can be added in a logical manner to the classical theories of axial members, torsion of shafts, bending of beams, and bending of plates. Complexities include anisotropy, non-mechanical strains, material non-homogeneity, material non-linearity, geometric non-linearity, shear in beams and plates. It also introduces variational calculus to formulate boundary value problem with the aforementioned complexities. There are several other unique features elaborated in the preface.

I also did a comparison with several other textbooks on Advanced Mechanics of Materials. You can see the results of this comparison on this link .  In future editions I intend to add more topics to my book.

The full version of the book, the solution manual, and free download of slides will be available by mid-November. This is the third book I have posted Online.
