Full PhD scholarship (tuition fee plus $25,406/year stipend ) is immediately available at the School of Engineering, RMIT University, Australia. Applications are invited for one open position in one of the following areas: (1) Mechanics of carbon nanotubes and graphene; (2) Multiscale simulation of nanotubes/graphene reinforced composites; (3) Mechanical and Electrical behaviours of composite structures. The research work is supported by Australian Research Council under DECRA scheme.
The perspective applicants should possess the following qualifications/attributes:
(a) MSc. degree in a closely related area;
(b) a Bachelor degree with good GPA (3.5/4.0 and above);
(c) solid background in and good knowledge of solid mechanics, composite structures and numerical modeling techniques;
(d) strong motivation, great enthusiasm, and commitment for research excellence;
(e) proficiency in English which meets the language requirements below;
IELTS: overall score ≥ 6.5 (no sub-band score < 6) or
TOEFL (paper based): overall score ≥ 570 (writing ≥ 5, reading ≥ 54, listening ≥ 54), or
TOEFL (internet based): overall score ≥ 90 (writing ≥ 21, reading ≥ 20, listening ≥ 20, speaking ≥ 20)
Experience with finite element modeling and/or molecular dynamics simulation is advantageous but not essential.
