Two Ph.D. positions in Mechanics of Structures and Materials at University of Central Florida

Applications are invited for two Ph.D. positions at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, FL. The research will focus on the modeling and design of lightweight, flexible, smart structures, with application towards deployable spacecraft structures. A combination of computational, experimental, and analytical methods will be utilized in this research.

Candidates with background in nonlinear solid mechanics, finite element modeling, shape and deformation measurements, composite fabrication, are highly encouraged to apply. The positions will start in Summer 2017 or Fall 2017. Graduate research/teaching assistantships are available for strong candidates.
