Open Rank Faculty Positions in Imaging Science at the University of Colorado Boulder

 

The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Colorado Boulder is currently seeking applications for tenure-track faculty positions in the interdisciplinary area of Imaging Science. The College of Engineering and Applied Science at CU Boulder, a tier-one professional school, is the highest ranked engineering college in the Rocky Mountain time-zone. The openings are targeted at the level of Assistant Professor, but experienced candidates with outstanding credentials will be considered for Associate or Full Professor appointments. The positions are associated with the College’s Interdisciplinary Research Theme initiative in Imaging Science and new faculty may be rostered in the Department of Mechanical Engineering or the Department of Electrical, Computer & Energy Engineering.

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or in a related field. Within the broad Imaging Science area, candidates with specialty in the areas of Ultrasonics, Optics and Biomedical Imaging are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will be expected to engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching, contribute professional service, and develop vigorous, externally funded research programs in their technical areas. Candidates whose expertise cuts across engineering and related disciplines are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates should describe their plans to develop a recognized research program based on scholarly work in their particular field, their ideas for interdisciplinary collaboration, their experience and interests in teaching undergraduates and graduates, and their future plans for inspiring diverse students to conduct research. The Imaging Science IRT and supporting Departments are interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their research, teaching, and service to the diversity and excellence of our academic community. The Imaging Science Interdisciplinary Research Theme of CEAS aims to produce novel imaging systems and technologies with significant societal impact, technology transfer and commercialization, and innovative educational opportunities.
