Postdoc positions at MIT available
We have one or more postdoc positions available, to be filled immediately, at MIT’s Laboratory for Atomistic and Molecular Mechanics, under the direction of Professor Markus Buehler. We are looking for postdocs in two broad areas, as described below.
Position #1: Materials science modeling
Candidates should have expertise in materials science, engineering mechanics or related fields. Our project is specifically focused on molecular and coarse-grain modeling of hierarchical materials, machine learning and AI, and additive manufacturing. Material platforms include protein materials, nanomaterials, and hybrid constructs.
Position #2: Chemical and process engineering
Candidates should have expertise in chemical and process engineering, supporting our experimental and computational efforts in multiscale materials processing and design (integrating molecular to macro-level in synthesis). A background in chemical engineering or similar field of materials processing is preferred, as this position will focus heavily on experimental process optimization and data-driven modeling.
More details will be provided to interested candidates.
Please send a CV, a brief summary of research interests and skills, several representative publications, and the names, affiliations, phone numbers, and email addresses of three references to mbuehler@MIT.EDU.
Evaluation of candidates will begin immediately and will continue until the opening is filled. This position is available immediately.
