Applications are invited for an immediate postdoctoral associate opening in the broad area of soft robotics in the Applied Mechanics of Materials Lab of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, US.
This project will focus on bioinspired multifunctional high-performance soft robots in manipulation and locomotion.
This position is available to applicants residing in the U.S. or ones who are able to enter the U.S. without requesting a visa only.
Candidates with strong experimental experiences in synthesis and fabrication of soft materials and stimuli-responsive smart materials (hydration, temperature, light, electrical or magnetic field etc.,) are desired. Candidates with related experiences in robotic materials and devices, advanced manufacturing, and soft active materials etc. are preferred. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds in mechanics, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering, electrical engineering, and chemical engineering etc. applying for this position.
The initial contract will be ONE year and has the potential to be renewed depending on the candidate’s performance and funding availability.
