Postdoctoral Research Associate and Graduate Student Openings in Mechanobiology and Biomechanics at UPenn

Several postdoctoral and graduate student openings with primary focus on biomechanics is available immediately in the Shenoy Research Group at the University of Pennsylvania. We are looking for strongly motivated candidates to work on NIH supported projects on 1) cell-matrix interactions in fibrosis and cancer, 2) nuclear mechano-transduction and 3) mechanical mechanisms of traumatic brain injury.

The ideal candidates will have a background in solid mechanics with expertise in 1) finite element simulations, in particular numerical implementation of non-linear material models and 2) phase-field models. This individuals will have the opportunity to be directly involved in complimentary experimental investigations in the medical school at UPenn and our collaborators elsewhere. Professor Shenoy is the director of the $25M NSF Science and Technology Center for Engineering mechanobiology (https://cemb.upenn.edu/).
