In many ways, Twitter is a mode of publishing familiar to researchers. You choose to publish what feels right to you. Each tweet is accessible to everyone (with or without Twitter account), has a time stamp, and can be linked by other tweets. Twitter is a great way to meet other reserachers and tell them about your papers.
