Postdoctoral Research Position in the Area of Nanoelectromechanical Systems (NEMS)

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. B. Erdem Alaca at Koç University, Istanbul. Research will be carried out on nanowire-based  electromechanical sensors allowing the postdoctoral fellow to conduct cutting-edge research on ultrasensitive NEMS devices. 

Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or in a related field along with a strong publication record. Excellent multiphysics modeling skills and experimental skills in electronic measurement and instrumentation are required. Familiarity with main NEMS fabrication and packaging tools and vacuum systems is an advantage. In the case of a strong potential and motivation for transforming their skills for nanoscale research, hands-on applicants with a solid background in applied physics are encouraged to apply. 

In addition to conducting research on NEMS modeling, fabrication and characterization in collaboration with other members of the consortium, the hired person is also expected to participate in the advising of PhD students. Hence, strong cross-disciplinary communication and organizational skills are required.
