Postdoc / Research Engineer at Johns Hopkins in Biomechanics (US Citizen or permanent resident only)

We are looking for a Postdoc Fellow (with PhD) or a Research Engineer (w/o a PhD) in the area of injury biomechanics and human body modeling. The sucessful cadidate will work on numerical simulations of pilot neck injuries during combat and training. Due to the funding source, the applicant must have either U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (i.e. "Green Card").

Location: Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute, Johns Hopkins University

 

Duties

 

·       Develop numerical (finite element) models to simulate the neck response of Air Force pilots in the training or combat environments

·       Injury data analysis

·       Write technical reports, papers and research proposals

·       Guide the graduate students in the group

 

Requirements

·             US Citizenship or Permanent Residency

·             For Postdoc: PhD in Mechanical/ Biomedical Engineering or other close areas; For Research Engineer: Master’s degree in the related field

·             Fluency in LS-DYNA (This is an essential requirement.)

·             Experience of handling FE models with very complex geometry and visco- elastic material behavior (like biological organs)

·             Knowledge of active muscle modeling is a plus
