2024 Extreme Mechanics Letters (EML) Young Investigator Award

Extreme Mechanics Letters is pleased to announce the Recipient of the 2024 EML Young Investigator Award

Extreme Mechanics Letters (EML) honors the best young researchers who have published their highly impactful papers in EML by bestowing upon them the EML Young Investigator Award (YIA). The winner of the EML YIA will be presented a certificate, an honorarium, and an opportunity to give an EML Webinar.

This year, we received 9 nominations of extremely highly impactful young researchers whose nominated papers were published in EML in Volumes 63-69, from 2023 to 2024. We are very pleased to announce the Winner of the 2024 Extreme Mechanics Letters Young Investigator Award.

Grace X. Gu, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, USA

Dr. Grace X. Gu was selected based on her paper “Influence of bioinspired riblet topographies on the mitigation of flow-induced noise in towed sonar arrays”, Extreme Mechanics Letters, Volume 64, P. 102130 (2024).

The winning paper is freely available for you to read online until 31 December 2025.
