Dear Colleagues,

The University of Wyoming is accepting applications for the Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellows Program, a two-year interdisciplinary research position focusing on AI applications in several selected areas.

It should be noted that the UWYO Research Office will select and support the candidates, with the requirement the candidates have a strong background in AI, and relevant expertise and the interests to use AI to solve problems pertinent to one of the several list topic areas. It is also expected that the candidate will work with the Research Office to identify 2 or more faculty advisors at UW.

Among the listed research topic areas, I have ongoing or planned research in the area of Nuclear Power Related Engineering (e.g., thermal and irradiation creep of superalloy) and Energy Materials (i.e., modeling of battery and hydrogen embrittlement in metals and digital-twin for manufacturing process). I would highly encourage candidates with machine learning/data-driven and relevant background to apply. For those interested in identifying potential collaboration with my group in the areas listed above, and indicating it in your research statement, I am happy to discuss.

Please help spread this great opportunity!

Deadline: 02/15/2025

Eligibility

1) Graduate students who are within a year of finishing their Ph.D.

2) Recent Ph.D. recipients within three years of graduation

Applications from both domestic and international candidates are welcome.
