DISCRETE SINGULAR CONVOLUTION IN APPLIED MECHANICS

Submitted by ocivalek on

Hi everyone:

I am interested in Discrete singular convolution method in applied mechanics. Professor Wei, G.W. and his co-workers made very quality papers on this area. Recently, Professor Zhao Y.B., Professor Xiang, Y. and Professor Lim, C.W. , Professor Wang, C.M. also presented some quality papers on this method. They are well-known Professor on computational mechanis. This new method is more suitable for eigenvalue problems especially in vibration and buckling. DSC provides a controllable numerical accuracy by using the suitable bandwidth. This is more important for large scale computations and optimization problem. Imlementation of boundary conditions, programming and formulation procedures are found to be straightforward and simple. The required computing time is very small. Our group is working on DSC method for vibration and buckling of plates and shells. We have been looking into the nonlinear vibration analysis of plates and shells. In this, we are interested to understand the obtain the egenvectors which have a non-positive but symmetic matrix. Please post your research interests and topics pursued in your group so as to enable us interact on imechanica.

WE ARE looking for interested researchers on DSC or other methods in computational mechanics.
