Interoperability

Submitted by David Weiss on

It is important that John Woodbridge introduced the community to the powerful mathematics of Michael Leyton's book "A Generative Theory of Shape" in Springer-Verlag.  A crucial aspect of this mathematics is that Leyton has invented a truly remarkable discipline called Interoperability Science - which is a systematic law-driven mathematical analysis of how to achieve interoperability.  A great interest has been shown in Leyton's approach by several of the world's top engineering organizations.  Also, the institute that Leyton has created, the International Institute of Interoperability Science, has a powerful goal and program that has also received great interest from these organizations.
