PhD candidate position in structural mechanics

The Graduate School MUSIC and the Institute of Structural Analysis at Leibniz Universität Hannover invite applications for a PhD candidate position (Salary scale TV-L E13).

The research will be carried out within the framework of the International Research Training Group IRTG 1627 „Virtual Materials and Structures and their Validation“. The aim of the International Research Training Group is to set up a forum for research and development of the newest methods related to computational technologies, virtual testing, and validation. Several positions will be available within the IRTG from 1 October 2010.

One of these positions will be at the Institute of Structural Analysis (ISD). The ISD offers two possibilities for PhD topics, topic 1627-A7 on fiber kinking, and topic 1627-A8 on nonlocal damage models.
