PhD Open Positions
PhD positions with financial support in the form of research assistant/teaching assistant are available in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Connecticut (UConn).
An immediate Ph.D. position is available in the Advanced Hierarchical Materials by Design Lab at Louisiana Tech University on multiscale modeling of materials synthesis. The candidates must have earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields (applicants with an MSc will be given priority) and have a solid background in theoretical and computational mechanics. Having knowledge of continuum mechanics, finite element modeling, and a programming language is a plus.
https://doi.org/10.1016/j.memsci.2019.117785 The widespread use of low dimensional carbon membrane for desalination and gas separation is limited by the difficulty to physically realise such membrane designs on a meaningful scale. This review aims to bring together results achieved in this field, hoping to inspire new designs or developments that could bridge this technical challenge. The focus of this paper is on sub-nanometer separation operations such as desalination or gas separation.
Hello [Composites] World!
(link: https://lnkd.in/gZg8eZ9)
Our last work is now available online on Composites Part A. For the first time, we propose, implement, and validate a multiphysics model for the manufacturing of fiber-reinforced polymer composites via frontal polymerization.
Fully-funded PhD positions are available to UK, EU and International students in the Department of Engineering at Nottingham Trent University with a starting date of 1 October 2020 or 5 January 2021 (application deadline: 14 February 2020 at 12 noon (GMT)). More information about the PhD studentship can be found in the links below:
