i am having a difficulty in modeling a crack growth using the XFEM. what is the difference between specifying the crack path and when u don`t specify it?

when i specify the crack path the surface separation begins even if i applied small loads value. But when i don`t specify the crack path it never separates.

Does anyone has an answer for me? thanks.

Hello Every one..

I am Devarajan.K I am New to abaqus. i want to anaysis vibration on cantilever beam when impact load acting on the beam. i dont know how to give   impact load on the beam. only ramp input load is there in abaqus. please help in this regarding how to give impact load on beam. please let inform me as soon as possible. this is my project work.

Thanks nd Regards

General consitutive modeling framework for anisotropic pro-visco-hyperelastic materials?

Submitted by azadpoor on

Modeling the constitutive behavior of biological tissues often involves anisotropy, hyperelasticity, viscoelasticity, and poroelasticity. I am looking for a good monograph/paper/textbook that presents a general constitutive modeling framework where these aspects are presented in an interconnected way. Most references treat these aspects separately, perhaps devoting a chapter to every aspect.

DIN 50CrMo4 Steel AISI 4150 HELP

Submitted by spanielka on

Hello dear coleque

i am PhD student from slovak university of technology, and i have small problem with material database, i work with softvare ANSYS, DEFORM 2D/3D and SYSWELD, and i really ned found the material data vor DIN 50CrMo4 steel vor temperature 20-850°C because the material database of this softvare is horrable.

CAN you please, really please me with this problem ?

What is the basic difference between Deformation theory and flow theory of plasticity ?

Submitted by Suman.Guha on

I am familiar with the flow theory version of the plasticity theory but still quite confused with the deformation theory version of the same.

When a material is modeled using a non-linear elastic model to predict its plastic behavior with no distinction between the elastic and the plastic strain, is it a deformation theory in that case?

Any elaboration in this regard would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance.
