A funded PhD position is open for summer or fall 2017 in the Mechanics and Dynamics Laboratory in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Wichita State University. The research program will focus on the design and development of mechanical metamaterials, their application towards aerospace structures, and will involve a combination of analytical, numerical, and experimental methods. The candidate must have a MS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering and a strong background in structural mechanics and dynamics.

Applications are invited for two postdoctoral positions available immediately in the Aerospace Engineering Sciences Department at the University of Colorado Boulder. Advisors: Prof. Kurt Maute and Prof. Alireza Doostan.

We are looking for capable and responsible candidates for the following positions:

#1.  We seek candidates with extensive experience in computational mechanics skills:

• PhD in computational mechanics / applied math / applied physics

• Statistics, Probability theory, Geometry, Graph theory, Reconstruction algorithms (for generating instantiations of virtual specimens) would be a big plus

• Expertise in Linear and Non Linear Finite Element Analysis 

A postdoctoral researcher position is open in my group to work on multi-scale and inverse models for soft tissues and heart valve mechanics. The aim of this research will be to develop models that predict aortic stenosis - the most common valve-related disease that affects 5% of the elderly. The project is funded through the research council of UK, and will provide opportunities of working closely with clinicians and experimental collaborators.

The University of Notre Dame, Center for Shock Wave-processing of Advanced Reactive Materials (C-SWARM), is seeking highly qualified candidates for two postdoctoral associate positions in the area of computational mechanics/physics with emphasis on chemically reactive solids. C-SWARM is center of excellence established by National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) whose primary focus is on the emerging field of predictive science.

I am looking for two talented, self-motivated, and enthusiastic students with BSc degrees in mechanical or materials engineering. Students with a background in any of the following areas are recommended to apply:
