Emission regulations such as the EU ECOdesign or US Department of Energy Pump Systems directives require pumps to be designed based on their life cycle emissions and hence require pump stages to be optimized considering multiple operating points.
Hello,
I am phd student in mechanical engineering. I want to use of total lagrangian formulation for analysis of a cantilever beam element using UEL abaqus subroutines. my difficulty is how to calculate the internal load and the tangent stiffness matrix. my code does not converge. can you help me. if there is a simple code I was wondering if someone aware me.
Thanks in advance
Dear Friends and Colleagues:
If you plan on attending the 2016 WCCM (July 24-29, 2016) in Seoul, Korea, please consider giving a talk in our mini symposium on “Nanomechanics”, MS 522. You can register and submit an abstract at the link below:
http://wccm2016.org/sub/sub05_.asp?menu=4
The abstract submission deadline is November 30, 2015. I look forward to seeing you there.
Best regards,
Harold Park (Boston University, USA)
slides for a course on engineering thermodynamics.
Engines move. Please watch some videos before you come to lectures. Here are several videos to get you started.
Job Description & Specifications:
The school of Civil and Environmental Engineering, NTU, is seeking for potential candidates for research positions as Research Assistant and Research Fellow.
The RA/RF will work on a project of monitoring of offshore structures such as Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels.
The roles of this positions include:
· Develop and integrate suitable fibre optic sensing and monitoring system for FPSO hull structures.
Applications are invited for one PhD position (4 years) in the area of of multiscale modeling of polymer composite degradation at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
The successful applicant will work with Dr. Angelo Simone (Computational Mechanics of Materials Group) on a project funded by the Technology Foundation STW through the High Tech Materials program. The position is to commence in spring 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder is currently searching for multiple faculty positions:

If you apply, please indicate in your cover letter the areas of interest in the Department (e.g., Engineering Science, Structural Engineering and Structural Mechanics, Building Systems Engineering, etc).
Professor Mory Gharib, of California Institute of Technology will receive the Society of Engineering Science G.I. Taylor medal next year. The prize is awarded for outstanding research contributions in either theoretical or experimental Fluid Mechanics or both.
With a growing interest in soft materials, stability and bifurcation analysis is re-emerging to be a critical topic for mechanicians. There are some excellent books out there but most tend to focus on finite dimensional systems rather than (continuous) infinite dimensional systems which are of most interest to mechanicians. In general, much of the modern developments on this topic are scattered across journal papers and perhaps there are not too many pedagogical resources for beginners.
