ADINA: Automatic Dynamic Incremental Nonlinear Analysis

Submitted by ADINA Support on

The ADINA System offers comprehensive capabilities for linear and nonlinear finite element analysis of solids & structures, CFD, fluid-structure interactions, multiphysics, and complete pre- and post-processing with interfaces to various CAD and CAE systems. It also offers user subroutines for material models, elements, loads...

cohesive element

Submitted by llguang on

Hello everyone,I am researching the dynamic crack propagation problem using the cohesive element. At this moment, I am using the LS-DYNA (971)software's cohesive material model ,But it does't consider the penetration of bulk elements when the cohesive elements after deleted or not deleted. so the bulk will penetrate each other when under exterior dynamic load. From the literature, I know that many reserachers use the solver which is writern by themselves, and the cohesive element also writen by self. How can some kind expersist give me a tutoial ,Thanks.

A Ph.D. Research Assistantship position in multi-scale computational mechanics of fracture of composites (with application on concrete) will be available to start in January 2010 in the Department of Civil Engineering, at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado, USA.

Calculation of potential energy in conditions of prescribed displacement and prescribed loading

Submitted by Liu Jinxing on

A question has arised when I read a book about fracture mechanics recently.

This question is about the calculation of potential energy in "fixed-grips" (prescribed displacement) and "dead-load" (prescribed displacement).

Hi,

I am having confusions about the concepts of thermal stresses of an un-constrained elastic body when heated/cooled.

Let's say if I have an elastic body of an arbitrary geometry. If I subject it to a uniform temperature change without any constraints, then there will no thermal stresses at the end of the analysis. I guess I am right till here.
