contact & Geometric non linearity
I am looking for acadmic material to address contact & Geometric (Large deformation) non-linearity problem. Can anyone provide the material to address these two concept in details.
Thanks

Dear All,
In ABAQUS manual, it is said for hyperelastic material, it is better to define it by stretch tensor U. But if I need to use deformation gradient F in the material model directly, I need to rotate the stress back to corotational frame. How should I do that? Should I make a polar decomposition of F=R*U first, and then apply Rt*S*R? or I can use the relative spin increment already provided to do that? If so, how?
Every engineers,
I am Homo and go to learn ABAQUS, but I have many questions, i.e.:
What is difference between Section points and Integration point in ABAQUS(espesialy in beam elements )?
Waiting for your kindly response
Homo
Dear non-EU students who want to study in the UK,
You are encouraged to look at the fellowship offers below. If you qualify for these and are interested in working in a dynamic group in computational mechanics in Glasgow, please contact me directly stephane dot bordas at gmail dot com
Our department has a growing team of PhD students (more than 20 at the moment) working in cognate disciplines, which will give you a unique opportunity for a strong PhD in computational mechanics.
Just got a message from Lesley Lam, iMechanica user number 1, as follows. Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences IT is in the process of moving our servers to a faster, newer host. As part of this process, I would like to take down iMechanica for about 10 minutes on Friday October 3rd at 10am. I am hoping this will improve performance and reliability on the machine as well.
Dear international, non EU students,
I am looking for high quality applicants for the following prestigious fellowship: http://www.orsas.ac.uk/
If you have experience in computational mechanics or numerical methods and would like to join a vibrant research group in Glasgow, UK, if you already have international publications in leading journals, then, send me
- your CV
- a statement concerning why you think you are the best candidate
- a list of three references
Dear all,
Three positions are available for a unique MSC + PhD on massively parallel processing for computational mechanics in the field of multi-scale, XFEM and biomechanics.
Details here: http://www.gla.ac.uk/departments/civilengineering/postgraduatestudy/res…
Experience in Finite Elements or numerical methods and mechanics is *essential*. Please do not apply if you do not have this experience.
Dear All my friends,
I have to design silencer at chimaney outlet. The silencer can be easily designed for mechanical strength as per ASME section VIII standard. But now I have to design the silencer from acoustic point of view as I have to consider the db level of the sound generated due to very high velocity flue gases.
please tell me which ASME standard can I follow to meet the requirement from acoustic point of views.
thanks in advance,
Regards,
Abhijit Nalawade.
