Open Position: Professor of Composite Materials

We are looking for you to join FHNW University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland at the Institute of Polymer Engineering in Windisch, Switzerland at the earliest possible date as a Professor of Composite Materials.

PhD position in hierarchical composite materials

The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) includes nine schools with more than 10'000 students. In a joint program with the Swiss Nanoscience Institute at Uni Basel and the Paul Scherrer Institute, we are looking for you to join the FHNW School of Engineering, Institute of Polymer Engineering, in Windisch, Switzerland, at the earliest possible date:

PhD position in hierarchical composite materials

Postdoc (m/f) on fracture toughness of high performance composite materials

Your tasks: The main objective of this position is to improve the fracture toughness of high performance composite materials. You are expected to plan and implement manufacturing and processing experiments with carbon fibre thermoset prepregs and characterise their fracture properties. Furthermore, you will plan respective processing equipment and thoroughly investigate fracture mechanics of composites. This also includes the development of according numerical analyses and simulations.

Scientific assistant - composite materials with a thermoplastic matrix

Your tasks: In the context of a large research project on processing of thermoplastcs composites, supervise production and implementation of new manufacturing and processing tools; plan, design, and analyse experiments for process development and material characterisation as well as for structural application of composite materials with a thermoplastic matrix; calculate and simulate material characteristics and structures; manage projects and supervise bachelor and master students
