how to create mesh for curve lines in LUSAS

Submitted by Rohamezan Rohim on

hi friends,

i need a help, on how to creat mesh to my model. my model composed of 2 curve lines and 3 straight lines.

when i assign surcafe to the model to create the mesh, the warning came out , which saying the it is something to do with non planar surface and when i check in index, it say something to do with support surface. As far as i concer the meshing must be bounded by 4 lines, not 5 lines as mine.

please any one help me on this..

thanks.

The maximum receptor-ligand bond spacing to ensure cell adhesion in ligand-coated substrates

Submitted by Yujie Wei on

Recent experiments by Arnold et al. (ChemPhysChem, vol. 5, 2004, p383 ) revealed that a distance of less than 58-73 nm between receptor-ligand bonds is necessary to ensure focal adhesion in cells adhering to ligand-coated substrate. An elegant solution to this problem is supplied by Lin, Inamdar, and Freund.

Is the limit of stress intensity factors "1" when the crack length is close to "0"?

Submitted by Zhanqi Cheng on

I have read some papers about fracture mechanics of functionally graded materials. I find there are different results for the stress intensity factors when the crack length is close to "0" . In some papers the values of stress intensity factors are "1" when the crack length is close to "0" , but in other papers the values of stress intensity factors are not "1". I obtain the stress intensity factors is "1" when the length of crack is close to "0". I hope to get the explaination about the results. Thanks a lot.

Evalauation of shape functions for nodes on the boundary in weak form

Submitted by Sharmistha.Sarangi on

I have a query regarding how to evaluate shape functions of nodes  on the boundary (natural boundary conditions ) for weak from for mesh free method.

Mesh free method which I am using is Radial point interpolartion function for the interior nodes and mesh free weak from for the nodes at the boundary ....but facing trouble with the shape function to be used.

Thank you

to model creep behavior in ABAQUS

Submitted by balappa on

Hiya,

I have different stress strain curves at different hours (1hr, 10hr, 100hr).  for a constant stress, the strain increases with increase in number of hours(creep)

They look like stress-strain curves at different strain rates.

now I want to define a material card with these curves with above mentioned number of hours.

I kindly request you to suggest me a CARD in ABAQUS which takes care of this behavior.

Thanks a ton for your help, in advance !

transient analysis problem in ANSYS

Submitted by iraj4u on

i have problem in IMPACT load on beam , whatever is there i mentioned below

i have load (kips) vs time (sec)

at time =0 , load=0

at time =0.006 , load=5.9

at time 0.056 , load=0

i use funtion editor by linear eqution Y=aX+b

i could not accurate result because of interpolations in ANSYS is differance then the MATHEMATICS. like

As per ANSYS

Toupin-type Decay and Saint-Venant's Principle

Submitted by Jian-zhong Zhao on

Saint-Venant's Principle is important in the theory and application of elasticity and its proof or formulation is a major attraction  for authors. Among others,Toupin's Theorem plays  the most influential  role in the history of  development  concerning Saint-Venant's Principle.
