Questions about ansys thermal-mechanical crack growth
Hello every one:
I am new to ANSYS ,I want to simulate thermal-mechnical stationary crack growth,
how steps i can do it ? i want to use K Criterion . who do it before ?
many thanks to you .

i am facing problems in modelling CFRP plate in impact machanics.
1-what section type is to be given(homogenious, generelized strrain etc.).
2-what element type in meshing.
i am modelling CFRP sendwitched in between aluminium plates (CARAL).
Please help me if anybody know it.
THANKS.
Dear colleague,
The fifth issue in 2011 (Volume 24, Issue 5) of Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica (AMSS) is now online.
Welcome to this SCI-indexed journal <http://ees.elsevier.com/camss/> for rapid publication of your exciting results.

This year the Applied Mechanics Division, through the generosity the Haythornthwaite Foundation, presented a new divisional award, the Haythornthwaite Research Initiation Grant. This new grant targets university faculty that are at the beginning of their academic careers engaged in research in theoretical and applied mechanics. This year there were three recipients of the 2011 awards.

Dennis Kochmann, California Institute of Technology
We kindly invite you to submit an abstract to the Special Session CST2012-S10: Damage Identification Methods, part of The Eleventh International Conference on Computational Structures Technology.
Hi!,
I want to initiate me in the analysis of composite laminates. Thank you for guiding me through an example of a three-layer laminated beam using the solid186 layered. My problem is in the piling of layers
Thank you and happy new year!!
Dear Colleagues,
We would like to introduce a few work of us in the area of elastic/acoustic wave propagation as well as stress/displacement analysis of composites by some effective mathematical methodologies. Every year with one publication as so far, the problems and the methodologies are very different from each other. We greatly appreciate your interests in the papers and the discussions with us about the technical skills if you have:
The following are two papers on the geometric formulation of classical mechanics. This is a follow up to some recent posting on iMechanica, as well as an attempt to bring about further discussion on the relationship and interaction between differential geometry and classical mechanics.
hi
