When I use expansion in analysis below error message is displayed

Submitted by mohsen12 on

Hi

I used coupled temperature displacement analysis in Abaqus for simulation hot forming sheet.

obtain negative temperature in coupled temperature displacement analysis in Abaqus.

When I use expansion in analysis  below error message is displayed

The Abaqus time increment has become negative?? = -3.60330E-07

TNT expolosion

Submitted by arashmaleki on

I'm trying  to simulate  with ABAQUS a explosion of TNT and the effect of that on a metal panel. The metal panel is 200mm away from explosive. It is about 100g TNT. I now about the subroutine VDLOAD. Which options I could use else in ABAQUS? Is it posible to define a explosion lake this with *EOS? If yes, which element type I should use for explosive set? Should I define a element set for air, if I use *EOS?

obtain negative temperature in coupled temperature displacement analysis in Abaqus

Hi

I used coupled temperature displacement analysis in Abaqus for simulation hot forming sheet but obtain negative temperature in coupled temperature displacement analysis in Abaqus.

I think maybe my contact or mesh is not correct.

my step type: Dynamic, Temp-disp, Explicit

mesh type: S4RT

contact type: surface to surface(Explicit) Penalty method contact  with termal conductance

Please help me to solve this problem.

Physical significance of strain

Submitted by amitshah3333 on

Hi All,

I would like to know about physical significance of Strain. How
it determines failure of structure?

Say for example Compressive strain of concrete being 0.002.
Does it means that if (any) concrete member of original length 100mm deforms 2
mm (when compressed) will fail? Since Strain in this case will be (2/100) =
0.02?

Request you to help me to understand concept of strain.

Thankyou,

Amit

Problem running subroutines with abaqus on 64 bit PC

Submitted by shapoor on

I am trying to run user subroutines in fortran, on 64 bit PC. although the verification is ok and all thing is pass, but I got error as:

problem during compilation. I run succesfuly this subrutine with 32 bit pc. the only differences is fortran version in 32 bit 9.1 but in 64 bit 10.1.

any help would be gratefully appreciated.
