crack closure tip model

Submitted by uni_students2009 on
Hello, my question meaning that developed crack closure model can be explained the damage interaction among cycles of loads, is it right that each cycle has a own damage how can interpolate the overall dame in realistic as possible? which model do you suggested that can be contribute in this issue consider crack closure model?

EFG Method using LS-Dyna

Submitted by puneetsoman on

Hello All,

I am a Masters Student trying to model a cyst in a Nerve for which i need to obtain large deformation(not displacement) which is not able to model with the help of Finite Element Tools(used Abaqus previously but no success).

I searched through the Internet and got to know that Meshless Methods are well known for Large Deformation.I found on the web that LSDyna has commercial code of EFG which i feel will be useul to me.

associate a pre-tension node with a pre-tension surface.

Submitted by fanying on

HI! All

I am modeling a connection with pre-stressed bolts. When I run my job, it aborted: "Node set assembly__load-1_blrn_ has not been defined

A concentrated load has been specified on node set assembly__load-1_blrn_. This node set is not active in the model"

I think I don't know how to convert a pre-tension surface of bolt to pre-tension node.

Can someone help me to show it clearly?

Thanks alot.

Two uniquely exciting positions are available at IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON on domain specific languages for computational mechanics applications:

I believe this could be of high interest to our community.
