Abaqus/Explicit VUMAT works fine on 32 bits Abaqus - Fails on 64 bits Abaqus with more than 1 processor!!!

Submitted by julienx2k2 on

Hi,

Here is the issue:

I am working with a x64 version of
Abaqus/Explicit (6.8-2), and a 32bits version (6.7-1). MS VS2005 is
installed with the x64 compiler tools, Intel Fortran is correctly
installed (IA-32 and Intel64 versions). My OS is Windows Vista Enterprise (64 bits).
The routine is compiled and linked correctly by lauching the appropriate ifortvars.bat file prior to executing abaqus.

Everything works perfectly with the 32 bits version of Abaqus+Compiler, with one or more processors (I have 8 of them).

Problem of contact data in ABAQUS 6.8 version

Submitted by jin haeng Lee on

Hi.

I have an issue related to recent change in ABAQUS new version.

I've recently found a problem related to cotact data in ABAQUS new version, 6.8. I use fil files, but I've heard from a Simulia engineer that data file also has the same problem (I have not checked it out yet.)

Johnson-Cook Material Model, Abaqus Explicit

Submitted by D. Barrett Hardin on

I am currently running a Quasi-Static compression simulation in Abaqus Explicit using the Johnson-Cook Plasticity option. As the strain gets beyond the elastic range, the stress-strain response begins to oscillate +- 5 MPa around the expected curve. Does anyone know why this is happening and/or how to repair the problem?

Thanks,

D. Barrett Hardin

Weld analysis using ansys

Submitted by sudheesh on

Inorder to find out the residual stresses and distortions in butt weld due to thermal loads in steel plates, i have used

shell57 for thermal and shell43 for structural. The material properties used are temperature dependent.

I  carried this out in two steps.

The thermal analysis is carried out first.

A moving heat source is used to generate the temperature distribution on the plate.
